Getting and Decorating Our First Christmas Tree

Cade and I are having our first Christmas together, my favorite holiday might I add!
Cade told me growing up he never had a real tree and I grew up with one every year and insisted to go pick one out, pack it up on top of our car and bringing it home to decorate together!
My favorite part of having a real Christmas tree is the smell it brings into the house, it's not Christmas until the fresh scent of pine fills the house!
This year we went to the Petersen Family Farm to get our tree and they were some of the nicest most helpful people! They had so many great trees and a cute gift shop you could pick up a snack or gift for a friend in!
After we picked out our tree they actually tied the tree to the roof of our car for us!! How awesome is that??? Heaven knows I don't know how to tie a tree to the top of a car without it falling off in five seconds!
I made a short video when we were getting the tree and you can view it here don't worry you don't have to hear me talk!
Here's some photos from the tree farm!

I love cades slight smile in this photo while looking down at Arya!

I fell IN LOVE with the wreath on this door and insisted that Cade took my photo in front of it!

YES!! he's getting comfortable in front of the camera #photographersboyfriendsyndrom

I thought this little cottage was so cute with the lights around it I took 156,489,687 photos of it but its not rational to share all of them so here is my favorite one!
After we got our tree we went home, set it up and..... Played Call of Duty, yep Cade lets me play Call of Duty with him every so often and a few times with him and his buddies!
We actually decorated our tree three days ago and had some help from a pup and a few kitties..
I originally had colored blubs on our tree but then decided to take them all of and put white lights on for a simpler, classier and brighter look!
So we put on our pajamas, and decorated out first tree together

Arya had been chasing the cats around not only the house but the tree all day and had finally calmed down a little bit and sat next to us while we decorated the tree.

Cade: "Brie take a photo of me doing this!"

Lyla has knocked more ornaments off the tree than I can count at this point.

Cade and I bought a star the night before my mom gave us one we put on the tree every so often when I was a kid, we decided we will switch it up every year as to what one we put on the tree and what one we use as decoration around the house!

Can't forget the classic kissing photo(s) ;)

The greatest gift I have received this year is Cade. I'm so blessed to have him in my life!
